Its elegant double-ring layout, intricate wooden carvings, and sophisticated use of traditional Chinese philosophical concepts in its architecture make it a breathtaking centerpiece. * Rusheng Lou (The "Pocket-Sized Round Building"): Offering a charming contrast, this is the smallest circular tulou in existence. Hongkeng is home to over 500 households, a community of more than 2,000 people living amidst this architectural wonder. The setting is one of profound natural beauty. Encircled by verdant, mist-shrouded mountains, the clear and lively waters of the Hongchuan Stream meander through the heart of the village. From one of the small bridges crossing the stream, visitors are treated to a quintessential view: the serene, green mountains providing a backdrop to the majestic and古朴 (simple and rustic) forms of the tulou lining the banks. The ensemble of architecture, cultivated land, forest, and water creates a picturesque, pastoral scene of remarkable harmony.
