Following breakfast at your hotel, embark on a comprehensive Changsha city tour beginning with the Hunan Provincial Museum - the province's largest comprehensive historical and art museum housing invaluable cultural relics. Continue to the renowned Yuelu Mountain Scenic Zone, where you'll explore the ancient Yuelu Academy, one of China's four great academies, and the picturesque Aiwan Pavilion nestled among the forested slopes.
Day 3: Revolutionary Heritage & Journey to Zhangjiajie
Mt. Shaoshan, Former Residence of Chairman Mao, Drive to Zhangjiajie

This morning, travel approximately one hour to Mt. Shaoshan, the birthplace of Chairman Mao Zedong. Visit the Former Residence of Chairman Mao and his Memorial Hall to gain insight into China's revolutionary history. Afterwards, embark on a scenic six-hour drive through Hunan's countryside to the spectacular landscape of Zhangjiajie. Check into your hotel in Wulingyuan District and rest after your journey.
Day 4: Zhangjiajie's Avatar Mountains
Tianzi Mountain Area, Yuanjiajie Scenic Area, Bailong Elevator

After breakfast, begin your exploration of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Wulingyuan Scenic Area. First, discover Tianzi Mountain Area with a two-hour hike among its spectacular sandstone pillars shrouded in mist. After lunch, continue to Yuanjiajie Scenic Area for another two-hour hike through the landscape that inspired the floating mountains in Avatar. Experience the breathtaking Bailong Elevator, the world's highest outdoor lift carved into the cliff face, offering panoramic views of the surreal karst formations.
Day 5: Heavenly Gate Mountain & Departure
Mt. Tianmenshan, Transfer to airport

On your final day, enjoy a half-day excursion to Tianmen Mountain (approximately 4-4.5 hours including round-trip cable car). Marvel at the magnificent Tianmen Cave, a natural arch spanning 131 feet high, and walk along the dramatic cliff-hanging walkway. After your tour, transfer to Zhangjiajie airport or train station for your onward journey.
