Cui Feng Mountain Nature Scenic Area: A Symphony of Nature in Yangquan

Nestled in the outskirts of Yangquan, Shanxi Province, Cui Feng Mountain Nature Scenic Area stands proudly as a National 4A-level tourist attraction and a designated National Water Scenic Area. Positioned in Houtan Town, approximately 110 kilometers west of Taiyuan and 120 kilometers east of Shijiazhuang, this enchanting destination spans a vast 13 square kilometers with an elevation reaching 1430 meters and an average annual temperature of 11°C.

Boasting the distinction of being the first discovery of primitive secondary forests in Yangquan, the scenic area is a lush haven with a forest coverage exceeding 97%. This verdant expanse serves as a sanctuary for a diverse array of natural secondary plants and biological communities, amounting to over 1200 species. Notably, more than 30 animal species, including wolves, red-tailed pheasants, wild boars, leopard cats, and various snakes, enjoy the protection of being designated as national protected animals.

Cui Feng Mountain's significance extends beyond its biodiversity. With over 300 varieties of wild fruit trees, flowers, and medicinal plants, many of these species contribute to environmental conservation by absorbing harmful substances like nitrogen dioxide and formaldehyde, thus playing a pivotal role in maintaining ecological balance and climate regulation.

The water in Cui Feng Mountain is of excellent quality, and the air is rich in negative ions, creating an atmosphere that invigorates the senses. The seasonal transformations paint a picturesque landscape, with spring adorned in peach blossoms, summer cloaked in vibrant greenery, autumn ablaze with fiery maple leaves, and winter adorned with pristine white snow, akin to a celestial realm and a natural oxygen bar for all.

A standout feature is the Specimen Museum, showcasing over 400 specimens of marine and terrestrial plants, serving as the largest natural science educational facility in Shanxi Province.

The "Five Wonders of Water and Sky" in Cui Feng Mountain include stone pavilions, wooden corridors by the water, waterfall bridges, and thrilling recreational activities such as the water trampoline bridge, tightrope walking, and the water soft bridge. For an adrenaline rush, the "Soaring Slide" allows visitors to slide down from a high vantage point, providing an unparalleled view of the mountainous scenery.

Cui Feng Mountain Nature Scenic Area features 36 mountain valleys, each offering unique experiences for explorers. Currently, three developed tour routes include the Green Valley Fairy Valley, the Buddha's Purpose Pavilion, and the Maple Leaf Pavilion.
