Wuhai Lake Ecotourism Area is located in Wuhai City and covers an area of approximately 2000 hectares. It is situated about 14 kilometers north of the urban area, adjacent to National Highway 110, Airport Road, and the Beijing-Tibet Expressway. The flowing waters of the Yellow River, resembling a colorful ribbon, are tightly bound around its chest. Wuhai Lake has received strong support from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Tourism Bureau, Development and Reform Commission, Wuhai Municipal Party Committee, Municipal Government, and other relevant departments. It has been included in the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" of Wuhai City and designated as the only ecotourism area to be comprehensively developed during this period. According to the "Records of the Grand Historian: Biography of the Xiongnu," as early as the times of Emperor Yao and Emperor Shun, ancestors of the Xiongnu lived in the "Northern Land," wearing leather, donning felt robes, and dwelling in yurts—known as the "yurt" that has been passed down for over 4000 years among the Mongolian people. Today, the yurt remains a symbol of their rich history.
