Jinshawan Ecological Tourism Area
Golden Sands Bay Ecotourism Area is located 14 kilometers north of the Haibowan District, where the government of Wuhai City is situated. Covering an area of 2,000 hectares, it is closely connected to National Highway 110, Airport Road, and the Beijing-Tibet Expressway. The flowing Yellow River runs like a colorful ribbon, tightly bound to its chest. Golden Sands Bay has received strong support from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Tourism Bureau, the Development and Reform Commission, the Wuhai Municipal Committee, the Municipal Government, and relevant departments. It has been included in the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" by the Wuhai Municipal Government and designated as a national base for ecological education for young people. It is the only ecological tourism area that will be fully developed during the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period in Wuhai City.
According to the "Records of the Grand Historian - Biography of the Xiongnu," as early as the time of Tang Yao and Yu Shun, the ancestors of the Xiongnu lived in the "Northern Land," wearing leather, draped in felt, and residing in "qiong lu" (rounded dwellings). The widely known "qiong lu" refers to the Mongolian yurt—known as the Mongol ger. From that time, the history of the Mongol ger, a symbol of a great ethnic group, has been condensed over more than 4,000 years.
