The Century Clock is a landmark sculpture erected in 1999 to usher in the 21st century. Located on the north bank of the Haihe River by the Tianjin Train Station, its massive mechanical clock draws many photo-taking visitors.

Constructed entirely of metal, the clock face is inlaid with bronze bas-reliefs of the 12 zodiac signs. The pole, gears, and base create a striking metaphor for the passage of time.

Majestic yet whimsical, the Century Clock signifies this old industrial city's great leap forward into the future.
