Kailuan National Mining Park
Established in 1878, KaiLuan is one of the most successful enterprises launched during the洋务运动 in China. It holds a milestone position in the history of China's century-old industry and is considered a living fossil of China's modern industry. On the bronze pavement of the Beijing China Millennium Monument, three brilliant imprints are deeply carved: "KaiLuan Mine completed coal production in 1881," "Tangxi Railway completed and put into operation," and "China manufactured the Jielun steam locomotive."
