Spanning 120 square km of Taihang Mountain, Zhanyi is the crown jewel of Shijiazhuang's forest parks. Its namesake sandstone formations rival China's Danxia and Zhangjiajie landscapes.

Giant natural echo walls, supposedly the world's largest, are a prime attraction. Ideal for weekends or short getaways, stay at the visitor center for park access.

Bring snacks and water for hikes. Early risers praise the sublime sunrise views. Buses 30 and 35 from Shijiazhuang South Bus Station reach Zhanhuang Terminal.

From there, shuttle buses (15 RMB each way) run to Zhanyi 6am-5pm. Tickets are 50 RMB peak (April-October), or 30 RMB off-peak. Open 8am-5pm daily. Lose yourself among Zhanyi's wondrous stone forests.
