Shijiazhuang Botanical Garden
Spanning over 1,000 acres, Shijiazhuang Botanical Garden is a horticultural haven with idyllic scenery and diverse exhibits. As of 2015, it harbors over 110,000 plants of 1,136 species.
Highlights include the golden camellia, dubbed the "panda of the plant kingdom", prized yellow "Zhen Huang Qi" camellias, plus rare azaleas, rhododendrons and "Bella" roses.
The gardens comprise indoor galleries and outdoor zones with tea houses, cafes, pottery studios and ikebana displays. An oasis from Shijiazhuang's sweltering summers.
Spring and autumn flower shows are also hosted. Direct buses include Tourist Routes 1, 11, Scenic 3 and 305 to Botanical Garden Station.
Tickets are 40RMB April-October, 30RMB November-March. Open daily 9am-4pm, last entry 3:30pm. Lose yourself in Shijiazhuang's urban jungle.
