Set amidst breathtaking karst topography, Shenshen Shui is a charming valley with limestone caves, springs and waterfalls. Marvel at the camel hump peaks, eagle spirit peaks, meditating Guanyin and natural bridges that resemble art.

Legend says the area suffered droughts until virtuous village maiden Jin Feng sacrificed herself to wash a monk's robes, birthing five dragons with five colored threads in her mouth. Guanyin blessed her as the holy mother whose newfound spring ended the drought.

Nestled deep in the Taihang Mountains, the friendly locals offer a warm stay at farmhouse inns with homecooked, affordable meals showcasing hearty country vegetables, game, hotpot and baked breads.
