Nestled in the southeastern part of Lingchuan County, Jincheng City, Shanxi Province, Wangmangling Scenic Area stands as the defining boundary mountain between the provinces of Shanxi and Henan. Historical Significance: Wangmangling derives its name from the legendary association with Wang Mang, the Western Han emperor. According to folklore, Wang Mang camped and established his stronghold here during his pursuit of Liu Xiu, earning the site its enduring title.
Geographical Features: Comprising four distinctive landscapes—Wangmangling, Xiyagou, Kunsan, and Liuxiu City—the scenic area spans from the heights of Wangmangling, with its peak reaching approximately 1,700 meters, to the lower elevations around 300 meters. The panoramic view from the summit captures the grandeur of the Taihang Mountains and offers a sweeping vista of the vast plains of the Central Plains. With a lush vegetation cover exceeding 96%, the region boasts a pleasant summer average temperature of around 22°C, earning it the poetic epithet "Cool Sacred Realm" by the eminent Yuan Dynasty scholar Yuan Haowen.
