Dizin Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, which means "a place of good fortune and happiness" in Tibetan, is the only Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province. The rolling rivers, vast mountains, crystal clear lakes, extensive grasslands, and deep gorges form the extraordinary natural landscape of Dizin.

Dizin is located in the northwest of Yunnan Province, bordering Qinghai Province to the north and Sichuan Province to the east. It is a multi-ethnic and multi-religious region with Tibetan as the main language. The local people have their own unique customs, culture, and traditions.
