Since its establishment by the Qing government in 1876, Dandong was known as Andong until the liberation. This period spanning over a century encapsulates a unique history, incorporating influences from the Qing Dynasty, the Republic of China, and the colonial era. "Andong Old Street" serves as a microcosm of this rich history.

Andong Old Street's architectural design predominantly draws inspiration from the street's structures during the 1920s and 1930s in Dandong. A selection of iconic buildings and street names from that era have been replicated in the project. The exterior walls and street scenes are adorned with symbols reminiscent of the Republic of China period. The street is divided into two sections: Andong Gourmet Street and Andong Tourist Reception Service Center. It is a multifunctional cultural street that combines nostalgia, sightseeing, classic cuisine, and tourism shopping.

The exterior and interior shops borrow elements from classic Andong architecture, complemented by antique objects and street scene sculptures. The design authentically reproduces the old street scenes, featuring century-old brands, branded dining, Northeast specialties, seafood, local snacks, traditional performances, and various folk arts. The streets are named after famous old streets during the prosperous Andong era, such as Zhongfu Street, Tianhou Palace Street, Xinglong Street, and Jubao Street.
