Nestled in the western region of Keshiketeng Banner, approximately 90 kilometers from Jingpeng Town, Dalinor Lake Scenic Area beckons as a natural haven. Embraced by the Xilin Gol Grassland Nature Reserve to the northwest, the eastern segment of the Small Tengger Desert to the south, and bordered by Xilin Gol League and Chifeng City to the west, this captivating landscape spans a vast 119,413.55 hectares. Recognized as a national-level nature reserve in December 1997, Dalinor showcases the harmonious convergence of prairie and sparse forest landscapes.

Dalinor, often hailed as the "Pearl of the Grassland" and "China's Third Largest Swan Lake," stands as Inner Mongolia's second-largest inland lake. In ancient times, it was known as "Fish Child Luo," "Fishing Child Haizi," and "Answer Child Haizi," translated into Chinese as the "lake resembling the sea." Positioned at the juncture of the plain grasslands and sparse woodlands, Dalinor spans an area of 240 square kilometers with depths ranging from 1 to 13 meters. The lake teems with fish, including crucian carp and Wahu yarrow fish.

Surrounding Dalinor Lake are expansive volcanic lava plateaus, towering volcanic craters, volcanic cones, lava necks, and micro volcanic landforms, along with volcanic ejecta such as volcanic bombs and volcanic ash. The Dalinor Lake volcanic group is one of the nine major volcanic groups in the northeastern region. The vast volcanic group, coupled with the boundless Gongger Grassland, forms a breathtaking natural spectacle.

The nature reserve is home to a diverse avian population, boasting 162 species from 32 families across 16 orders. Among these, eight species are classified as first-class protected birds, and 21 as second-class protected birds. Start from Beijing using the Jingcheng Expressway and then switch to the Chengchao Expressway. Make sure to follow the road signs.
  2. Bus Route: If traveling by bus, depart from Beijing Liuliqiao Bus Station. Buses operate every other day and are especially convenient for students.
