The Temple of Mount Sumeru's Blessings and Longevity, nestled on the southern slope of Shizigou, just north of Chengde's Imperial Summer Resort, holds a rich history dating back to the 45th year of the Qianlong era (1780). In celebration of Emperor Qianlong's 70th birthday, the Sixth Panchen Lama embarked on an arduous journey of over 20,000 miles to Chengde. Deeply appreciative, Emperor Qianlong erected the Temple of Mount Sumeru's Blessings and Longevity, also known as the "Panchen Lama's Palace," to serve as a residence and preaching venue for the esteemed Sixth Panchen Lama. The name "Mount Sumeru" in Tibetan, known as "Zha Hui," symbolizes an auspicious dwelling place, while "Blessings and Longevity," or "Lunbu" in Tibetan, implies an abundance of blessings and a long life.

The temple unfolds from south to north, featuring key structures such as the mountain gate, stele pavilion, glazed tablet pavilion, grand red platform, Golden Jubilee Hall, Wande Zongyuan Hall, and the glazed Wanshou Pagoda.
