Nestled in the heart of Hebei Province, Chengde Bishu Shanzhuang stands as a testament to the grandeur of the Qing Dynasty, serving as the imperial summer palace for Chinese emperors. Boasting the title of the largest classical imperial garden still in existence, this masterpiece of architectural and natural beauty has a rich history that dates back to its inception in 1703. Over the course of 89 years, spanning the reigns of Emperors Kangxi, Yongzheng, and Qianlong, this architectural marvel took shape, consisting of imperial palaces and meticulously landscaped gardens.

The retreat is divided into four main areas: Palace Zone, Lake Zone, Mountain Zone, and Plain Zone. The Palace Zone and Lake Zone stand out as the epitome of Chengde Bishu Shanzhuang's splendor. The gardens feature 28 Mongolian yurts of varying sizes, the imperial library known as Wenjin Ge, architectural gems like Yongyou Temple, Chunhao Xuan, and Suyun Yan, making it a captivating destination for exploration.
