Guanmen Mountain National Forest Park
Gateway to Nature's Grandeur: Guanmenshan National Forest Park
Situated in the southern part of Benxi Manchu Autonomous County, Guanmenshan National Forest Park is renowned for its towering peaks and peculiar rock formations, earning it the moniker of "Northeast Little Yellow Mountain."
The park is adorned with canyons and meandering streams, offering a refreshing escape during the summer months when the rains bring cascading waterfalls and lush greenery. Even in seasons with less water, the babbling brooks remain a constant companion. However, it is during the vibrant hues of autumn that Guanmenshan truly unveils its splendor, especially when the entire mountain is ablaze with the mesmerizing red leaves, making it a renowned destination for autumn foliage photography in Northeast China.
Within Guanmenshan National Forest Park, several subareas, including Xiaohuangshan, Jialaizi, Longmenxia, Yuetaizi, Mingcuigu, and Guanshan Lake, offer diverse landscapes. To thoroughly explore each subarea, plan for an average duration of 3-4 hours. While the park's elevations may not be exceedingly high, the extensive touring routes make it advisable to utilize the park's shuttle services, especially during peak times when securing seats on these vehicles can be challenging.
